Welcome to WWE Survivor Series 2013. The panel for tonight would be Booker T, Bret Hart, Josh Matthews and Mick Foley.
Straight to the Kick-off match between The Miz and Kofi Kingston. Both guys were first hesitant to shake hands at the start of the match but later did incidentally. Kofi started more offensive and tried to get an early pin but Miz keeps kicking out. This went on until Miz started getting into his groove and both men attacked and countered evenly. Kingston kept trying to make a pin from every Miz's fall but was not successful. Miz also tried his FF but did not connect well. In the end, Miz capitalized on a mistake by his opponent to make the pin which gave him the three count and the win. After the match, Miz offered his hand for a handshake but Kofi smacked him in the face. Interesting match! What a way to start the night.
The Authority are out next. They welcomed everyone to the show and promised a no-interference in the matches ahead tonight.
Up next is the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match between The Usos, Rhodes brothers, Rey Mysterio vs The shield and The Real Americans. Dean Ambrose and Cody Rhodes kicked off this match and after few minutes, Ambrose got eliminated. Everyone finally got involved and after a really interesting brawl, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro got eliminated by Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes respectively. Jimmy Uso got eliminated via a Spear from Roman Reigns. It's down to four men on two now. Jey Uso also became a victim of Reign's spear and got eliminated. Immediately, Seth Rolins made a tag and reacted so fast to pin Cody Rhodes. The numbers are even now. Mysterio and Goldust vs Rollins and Reigns. Rollins dominated Mysterio for a long time but when it mattered most, Mysterio maneuver his way to counter his move for a pin. Rollins got eliminated but went ahead to beat up Goldust before leaving the ring. Reigns took the advantage to beat up Goldust and pin him with a Spear. Almost immediately, Mysterio runs into another Spear from Reigns which took him out. Roman Reigns remains the sole survivor in the ring and had a great reaction in chants from the crowd. Again, great match! I didn't see that coming.
Kane, Triple H and Stephanie are shown backstage talking to Randy Orton and trying to motivate him ahead of his match tonight.
Next match is the Intercontinental Title match between Big E Langston and Curtis Axel. A short match which saw Langston being more dominant. He successfully defended his title via a pinfall with his signature move, The Big Ending.
Backstage, AJ Lee mocks her other members in her team as being better than each of them. None of the other members liked this idea of her. The 7-on-7 divas elimination match is up next and here is the series at which each diva got eliminated. Naomi eliminates Alicia Fox; Rosa eliminates Cameron; Nikki Bella eliminates Rosa; Nikki Bella further eliminates Summer Rae, Kaitlyn eliminates Eva Marie, Kaitlyn further eliminates Naomi, Brie Bella eliminates Kaitlyn; Askana eliminates Brie Bella; Nikki Bella eliminates Askana; AJ Lee eliminates JoJo, Natalya eliminates Tamina Snuka and finally, Natalya eliminates AJ Lee via submission with the Sharpshooter. Team Total Divas won. Thanks to Natalya.
Ryback was out next to the ring and makes a heel-like promo. He made an open challenge to anyone in the locker room and to everyone's surprise, a head-shaved, beard Mark Henry comes out. The crowd made a large pop for his return. The match starts and as expected, it was a really physical one. Both men had their chance for a pin but they kept kicking out respectively. Ryback hits a Spinebuster and when he thinks he has won with this, Henry fastly countered with the World Strongest Slam for the win.
Next match is the World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Alberto Del Rio. John Cena, without any protective brace on his arm, had a warming cheer from his home fans in Boston when he was introduced. The match started a bit slow as both men kept trading holds which led to a "Dueling Cena" chant from the fans. Del Rio begins to dominate after he kicked out from a Cena's pin. He works more on the injured arm of Cena. Del Rio keeps having series of close counts but Cena kept kicking out. I least expected Del Rio to be this invincible against Cena. Cena begins to get into the match. He goes for the 5-knuckle shuffles and then tried to hit an Attitude Adjustment but Del Rio acted fast to avoid it. Cena got few close counts after hitting a neckbreaker and a DDT. He further reversed an Alberto's Crossarm breaker into the STF but Del Rio got his hands on the rope. Both men continued the heated brawl. In the end, Cena hit an Attitude Adjustment for the win. He remains the World Heavyweight Champion.
Next up is CM Punk and Daniel Bryan against The Wyatt Family. Punk and Bryan came out first to a large positive reaction from the crowd. The Wyatt came out next and Bray Wyatt cuts a promo before the match starts. Eric Rowan and Bryan started the match. Rowan used his physical advantage over Bryan to dominate him but Bryan squeezed out some kicks on Rowan face to get a tag with Punk. Punk got in very lively and controlled the match but things got even again when Rowan tag in his partner. The match went back and forth with both teams controlling at different time. The Wyatts begin to have a permanent control and few close counts. Bryan begins to fight back and sends Rowan out of the ring with a running knee. He tags in Punk who hits the GTS on Luke Harper for the win. The two men celebrate with the crowd.
The main event of the night comes up next. Randy Orton defends his WWE title against The Big Show. The match started with Orton quickly getting Show down. He attacked with few punches but Show pushed him off. Show became more fierce as he hit Orton through the steel stairs outside the ring. Orton through had his own momentum too after he hit a sloppy DDT. The fans doesn't seems to be getting along with the match as they kept booing and chanting "Boring". The match went back and forth until the referee got knocked out accidentally. Show hits the KO punch on Orton but the ref has passed out. The Authority comes out and Big Show got distracted. Orton quickly hits an RKO and gets the pin. He successfully defends his title.
After the match, John Cena comes out and raises his title, just like Orton. Both men stares as each other as the show comes to an end. Could the rumoured unification be coming true? It is left to see what happens next. It's surely been a great night of entertainment.
