WWE SURVIVOR SERIES 2013: PREVIEW AND MATCH PREDICTIONS

This Sunday, WWE presents it's 27th edition of Survivor Series, which will likely decides which champions will be champions no longer, the traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team matches in the men and even Divas section and the long-awaited comeback of the high-flying Rey Mysterio in a PPV after a long term setback due to a knee injury. To start with, here is the matches billed for Sunday's event:

  • The Miz vs Kofi Kingston
  • Big E Langston (C) vs Curtis Axel (Intercontinental Championship Match)
  • Team Total Divas (Natalya, The Funkadactyls, The Bella Twins, Eva Marie and JoJo) vs Divas Champion AJ Lee, Tamina, Kaitlyn, Rosa, Summer Rae, Aksana and Alicia Fox (Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match)
  • WWE Tag Team Champions Goldust and Cody Rhodes, The Usos and Rey Mysterio vs The Shield and the Real Americans (Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match)
  • CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs Erick Rowan and Luke Harper
  • John Cena (C) vs Alberto Del Rio (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
  • Randy Orton  (C) vs Big Show (WWE Championship Match)
The Miz vs Kofi Kingston

The show kicks off with a grudge match between The Miz and Kofi Kingston. This past Monday on RAW, Miz refused to tag in with his partner, Kofi Kingston, in their match against The Real Americans. The new start of a "Heel Miz" should be an interesting one as his character in the ring fits this new part of him well. I expect him to defeat Kingston in the pre-show match or else his heel turn will just be a waste of time.

Prediction: The Miz wins

Big E Langston (C) vs Curtis Axel

The newly crowned IC Champion will be defending his title against Curtis Axel. Langston has been on a good run of form, maybe except his recent lost to Del Rio. Unlike his opponent Curtis Axel, his matches performance and results have not been too convincing after Paul Heyman absence. The outcome of this match just tends to one direction, a win for Langston who has been rumored to be heading for a massive push.

Prediction: Big E Langston wins

Team Total Divas (Natalya, The Funkadactyls, The Bella Twins, Eva Marie and JoJo) vs Divas Champion AJ Lee, Tamina, Kaitlyn, Rosa, Summer Rae, Aksana and Alicia Fox

Maybe with the exception of The Bella Twins and Natalya, Team Total Divas seems to be made up of what it could be described as "weak links" and this might go a long way in making them lose the match. The opposing team, made up of the Divas champion, a physical Tamina, experienced Alicia and talented Summer Rae just looks "too complete and fierce" for the Total Divas team with JoJo which could be a minus. Hoping I don't eat my words but AJ Lee will be the last woman standing for her team and will do enough to pick the win.

Prediction: Team AJ Lee, Tamina, Kaitlyn, Rosa, Summer Rae, Aksana and Alicia Fox win

Goldust and Cody Rhodes, The Usos and Rey Mysterio vs The Shield and the Real Americans

My match of the Night! This bout promises to give most entertainment for the night as the heel team of the moment, The Shield (maybe The Wyatt Family could be a contender for this too) would be teaming up with the ever-physical Swagger and Cesaro to face the Tag Team Champions, The Usos and the returning Rey Mysterio who might be the most influencial man for this match. I hope this match leads to a Cesaro face turn.

PredictionGoldust and Cody Rhodes, The Usos and Rey Mysterio

CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs Erick Rowan and Luke Harper

After what seems to be an unending feud with Paul Heyman, Punk finally finds himself partnering with Daniel Bryan to face the Wyatt Family. This to me looks like an opportunity to push the Wyatt family and maybe create a storyline in which Punk and Bryan will later become enemies ahead of Wrestlemania 30. With a man advantage in Bray Wyatt, The Wyatt Family will have an unclean win.

Prediction: Erick Rowan and Luke Harper

John Cena (C) vs Alberto Del Rio

Alberto gets his chance for a rematch to get his hands back on the World Heavyweight Title he lost to John Cena in Hell in a Cell; but I doubt he will ever defeat Cena. It's high time Damien Sandow takes his place.

Prediction: John Cena wins

Randy Orton  (C) vs Big Show

I would rather suggest a Daniel Bryan remaining in the WWE title storyline than a Big Show but the WWE writers knows best. With The Authority trying to keep off support to Randy Orton, I hope this match lives up to expectation.

Prediction: Randy Orton wins
